PRODUCE

Publish and circulate the results of the study and prepare for continued partnership.

During the final stage, we want to ensure that the research we’ve just completed is used to make change within the school and the edtech company. It’s important to create final deliverables that coalesce the research process for all appropriate audiences. That may include creating separate documents for research participants (students, parents, teachers), school administrators, school board, and edtech executive leadership. Each of these stakeholders should have all the information they need before committing to next steps and a sustained partnership.

Create Shared Deliverables

Developers use feedback from users to refine and improve the solution.

The primary audiences for the final deliverables are the educators and the product developers. The product developers need a clear deliverable that allows them to make sense of the findings, implement the recommendations, and promote their findings to their primary audiences. Educators need a clear deliverable that allows them to understand the results of the research project and make an informed decision about what conditions need to be met by the product developer before implementing the solution at scale.

Goals

  • Create actionable deliverables

  • Explain the findings

Tools

Circulate Findings

Present and discuss the findings from the research with key decision makers.

Goal of circulating the findings is to maintain the momentum of the study in order to give all stakeholders the opportunity to digest, analyze, and act upon the results. Researchers should share the results with peer organizations and gather feedback on the study design and implementation. Product developers can use the study results to communicate a commitment to research in product design and development. Educators can use the results of the study to suggest next steps to the administration, school board, and broader school community.

Goals

  • Make the results accessible.

  • Create transparency in the research process.

Tools

Commit to Next Steps

Identify a set of commitments that allows for partnership sustainability and continuous improvement.

Research is about continuous improvement. It’s unlikely that the initial implementation of a solution will solve inveterate problems at a school. Whether the results from the research project are positive, negative, or neutral, there’s still more to learn and build upon.

During this final stage, all stakeholders should meet to reflect on what went well during the process and could be improved.

Goals

  • Identify opportunities to expand or continue the partnership and research.

  • Evaluate product iterations.

  • Layout commitments necessary for a continued partnership.
